The Content Repurposing OS:
Turning One Piece of Thinking into 10 Distribution Touchpoints.
Publishing once is the lowest-leverage content model available to a solo consultant. One 3-hour newsletter issue can yield 9–11 touchpoints across three weeks — reducing effective cost per touchpoint from 3 hours to 26.7 minutes. The content pyramid (pillar → derivative → micro), three source-specific workflows (article, podcast, newsletter), AI prompt templates for insight extraction, Castmagic and Opus Clip as the highest-leverage tools most consultants haven't tried, and a 3-week distribution calendar. Four archetype configurations from newsletter-first to under-3-hours-per-week. Updated May 2026.

Publishing once is the lowest-leverage content model available to a solo consultant. The repurposing OS converts a single creation event into 8–12 distribution touchpoints — reducing the effective cost per touchpoint from 3 hours to under 30 minutes.
The standard solo content loop: spend 3 hours writing a newsletter issue, send it to 400 subscribers, maybe post a link on LinkedIn, start over next month. This is a single-distribution model. The thinking, positioning, and structure in that newsletter disappear into the archive folder.
The repurposing OS inverts this equation. Creation is the constraint in solo consulting content — the hard cognitive work of developing an original idea and writing with authority. Distribution is cheap. One newsletter issue can yield the newsletter itself, 3–4 LinkedIn posts, a Twitter/X thread, a short-form video script, a quote graphic, and an email nurture snippet. Total: 9–11 touchpoints from a single 3-hour creation session. This is not about flooding channels with noise — it is about recognizing that different segments of your audience engage on different channels in different formats.
The content pyramid
Pillar content → derivative content → micro content. Nothing moves bottom-up — you write the article first and compress it into the LinkedIn post, not the reverse.
Tier 1 — Pillar Content
Long-form articles (1,500–3,000 words, 3–5 hrs), newsletter issues (600–1,500 words, 2–4 hrs), podcast episodes (30–60 min, 1.5–3 hrs prep + record), long-form video (15–45 min, 2–4 hrs). These carry the full weight of your thinking. Everything else is extracted from them.
Tier 2 — Derivative Content
LinkedIn posts (15–20 min with AI assist), Twitter/X threads (20–30 min), email snippets (10–15 min), short-form video scripts (20–30 min), quote graphics (10–15 min in Canva). Adaptation, not creation — the thinking exists; the work is repackaging.
Tier 3 — Micro Content
Short video clips (Opus Clip auto-generates from long-form video, 5–10 min), social audiograms (5–10 min), pull-quote images (5 min in Canva). Often tool-automated. Minimal editorial effort required once the system is running.
Repurposing workflows
Three source-specific workflows — article, podcast, and newsletter — with AI prompt templates for each.
Workflow A: Long-Form Article
Article → 3–5 LinkedIn posts (each isolates ONE insight; self-contained, no link to article required) → newsletter issue (same content, add a 2-sentence personal framing note at the top) → 1 quote graphic (the single sharpest sentence in Canva, 1080×1080) → 1 short-form video script (hook 10s + core insight 40s + implication 20s + CTA 10s).
AI prompt — insight extraction
"Here is a [article/newsletter]. Extract the 5 most distinct, standalone insights. For each, write: (1) a one-sentence summary, (2) a 200-word LinkedIn post that argues the insight without referencing the source piece, (3) a 15-word pull quote. Tone: direct, systems-oriented, no emojis."
Workflow B: Podcast Episode
Record → upload to Castmagic (transcript + auto-generated social posts, show notes, key quotes in 15 min) → upload video to Opus Clip (3–5 short clips with auto-captions, 10 min) → feed transcript to Claude: "Convert this transcript to a 1,500-word article — create original headers, tighten the logic, remove filler" (30 min to review and edit) → schedule LinkedIn posts across 2 weeks from Castmagic-generated drafts.
The backlog opportunity
If you have 30 existing podcast episodes, you have 30 pillar content assets sitting unpublished in written form. Running them through the Castmagic → article → LinkedIn post workflow is 90 minutes per episode that generates months of content with no additional recording.
Workflow C: Newsletter Issue
Newsletter → 1 LinkedIn post (the central argument as a self-contained post — do not post a link to the newsletter; LinkedIn suppresses link posts; link in comments if asked) → 1 Twitter/X thread (resequence as numbered assertions, 8–12 tweets) → 1 short-form video script → 1 quote card. External link suppression note: posting a newsletter URL directly in caption receives ~60% reach suppression. Use "link in comments" or "link in featured section" instead.
Tool stack and distribution calendar
Phase 1 tools to adopt immediately — Castmagic and Opus Clip are the two highest-leverage tools most consultants in this audience haven't tried.
| Tool | Role | Phase |
|---|---|---|
| Castmagic | Audio/video → transcript + auto-generated social posts, show notes, key moments | Phase 1 (podcast/video creators) |
| Opus Clip | Long video → short clips with auto-captions and virality scoring | Phase 1 (video content) |
| Claude / ChatGPT | Insight extraction, post generation, format reformatting | Phase 1 (universal) |
| Canva | Quote graphics, story cards, carousel design | Phase 1 (quick wins) |
| Taplio / Buffer | LinkedIn scheduling, analytics, multi-channel queuing | Phase 2 (systemizing) |
3-week distribution calendar from one pillar piece
| Week | Mon | Tue/Wed | Thu/Fri |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Publish pillar + LinkedIn post #1 | Twitter/X thread | Quote graphic |
| Week 2 | LinkedIn post #2 | Short-form video | LinkedIn post #3 |
| Week 3 | LinkedIn post #4 | Podcast clip (if applicable) | Email nurture snippet |
Total from one pillar piece: 9–11 distribution events across 3 weeks. Creation time for all derivatives: 60–90 minutes with AI assist. The effective cost per touchpoint: 4 hours ÷ 9 touchpoints = 26.7 minutes. Without repurposing: 3 hours ÷ 1 touchpoint = 3 hours. That is a 6× efficiency gain without writing a single additional original idea. See the LinkedIn Content OS for how derivatives feed the posting queue.
